Abstract | After the issuance of the Opinions on Strengthening the Protection of Rights and Interests of Truck Drivers, the protection of rights and interests of truck drivers and their working environment have received widespread attention from all sectors of society. The government departments, logistics enterprises, and Internet platforms have launched policies and measures to care for truck drivers. The China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing organized a questionnaire survey to understand the implementation of policies and measures. The basic situation, business conditions, special investigation of digital freight platforms, sense of gain from polices, social security, problems and challenges, and relevant suggestions have been analyzed in the questionnaire to improve the working environment of truck drivers, care for and serve the group of truck drivers, and safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, thus boosting the high-quality development of road freight industry. The questionnaire reflects the problems and challenges for truck drivers such as difficulty in raising income, fierce competition, low transaction prices due to oversupply of trucks, excessive working hours, rising costs, and low social status. Finally, several policy recommendations are raised in the survey report, including reducing the pressure of drivers, creating a fair competitive context, optimizing the industry rules and regulations, enhancing the sense of gain from polices, and encouraging the industrial technological transformation and upgrading. |
