About Us

TransFORM is the Transport Transformation and Innovation Knowledge Platform, jointly convened by the Government of China and the World Bank, to help make comprehensive transport safer, cleaner, and more affordable for development in China, while sharing Chinese experiences with development partners.

It was initiated as a pilot on November 27, 2012 through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding that set up the China-World Bank Knowledge Hub, and formalized on July 1, 2014 through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China and the World Bank.

As a knowledge platform, TransFORM aims to deepen engagement and promote knowledge exchange among practitioners, decision makers, and development partners, and pilot innovative solutions developed through project delivery by means of in-person workshops and the online information platform. TransFORM focuses on five priority topics: (1)Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), (2) Intelligent Transportation System (ITS), (3) Public-private Partnerships, (4) Urban Mobility, and (5) Green Freight.

TransFORM is jointly developed by Transport News, entrusted by China Ministry of Transport, and the World Bank China Office.
