Abstract

The paper analyzes the “external transportation, green transportation, safe transportation, scientific transportation, and cultural transportation” of Beijing in 2019.

The analysis of external transportation mainly focuses on domestic passenger transportation and overseas passenger transportation. It is found through the comparison of the railway, aviation, and road transportation data that Beijing transported 313 million tourists out of the city, an increase of 2.4% over the previous year. The total passenger volume of domestic transportation has increased significantly, which is undertaken mainly by the cooperation of railway and aviation transportation.

The discussion on the development of green transportation is mainly around the condition of motor vehicles, public transportation and slow traffic system. To satisfy the needs of the residents for diversified ways of transportation, Beijing has established an all-weather linked green transportation system through controlling the number of motor vehicles and building the Chaoyang CBD and Huilongguan slow-traffic demonstration area.

For safe transportation, traffic safety production management is strengthened and standardized through concrete measures while the concept of safe traveling is promoted. The death rate and economic loss in traffic accidents have been significantly reduced in 2019.

For scientific transportation, Beijing has applied such intelligent technologies as intelligent traffic management, intelligent public transportation, intelligent expressway, and MaaS to daily life in 2019 to ensure the quality of intelligent transportation.

To meet the cultural needs of passengers and make travel more comfortable, Beijing has satisfied the diverse needs of passengers in cultural and tourism transportation through improving the added value of transportation services. On the whole, the tourism transportation in Beijing has kept on moving in a positive direction while maintaining stability. The significantly increasing number of tourist passengers has brought bright prospects for development.

In general, transportation in Beijing is safe and stable while the service level has been further improved this year. It provides a reliable guarantee for promoting the service functions of Beijing as the capital as well as the political, social and economic activities this year and lays the foundation for the construction of a convenient, green, safe and dynamic modern urban comprehensive transportation system.
