Description

With the rapid development of the economy and society and the growing demand for public travel, the social functions of expressway service areas have become increasingly prominent. The demand of the public for expressway service areas is no longer the basic services like catering, refueling, and so on, but the continuously expanding service functions and enriching service measures to turn the service areas into a caring station and a people-centered emergency support platform. Fujian Province adopts the Hikvision Expressway Service Area Management System to promote the informatization and improvement of its expressway service areas.

Fujian Province has established a unified expressway service area management platform, which conducts unified monitoring, control and management of each service area and subsystem. The subsystems perform information exchange and control signaling exchange with the central platform through the message service according to the unified standard interface. It realizes the centralized management of scattered and mutually independent subsystems with the same environment and software interface and establishes a service area operation management system.

The management system includes four functional sections, including video surveillance management, parking guidance, traffic flow management, and information release.

For video surveillance management, different monitoring equipment is deployed in the squares, key monitoring areas, and regular stores in service areas to grasp the real-time situation of the people, vehicles, and events in the service areas and improve the ability to discover, deal with, and trace back abnormal events. For parking guidance, parking space detection cameras are deployed in the parking area to detect the number of vehicles parked and update to the parking guidance screen. For the traffic flow management system, the characteristics of vehicles are recorded. Based on the central database, vehicle characteristics judgment and traffic flow statistics at a specific time can be realized. With the help of the inspection and control system, the suspected vehicles could be positioned and intercepted. Through the information release system, traffic information, traffic control information, and information on folk customs and specialties can be sent to the vehicles and personnel entering the service area in the form of text messages and release machines.

At present, the mileage of expressways in Fujian Province has reached 6,168 kilometers. In all provinces in China, it ranks third in both comprehensive density and comprehensive evaluation and second in satisfaction evaluation. There are 389 toll stations and 133 pairs of service (parking) areas, among which the number of Top 100 service areas and excellent service areas ranks top in China.
