ABSTRACT

Through an online questionnaires and analyzing 6782 valid questionnaires, the China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP) learned about the status quo of truck drivers and the development and changes in the past five years. The investigation is as following:

1. Basic situation. Truck drivers are generally older, mainly with rural registered permanent residence and education background of junior high school and below. The drivers participating in the survey have worked for more than 6 years, showing a strong employment stability, while such industry is less attractive to young practitioners. The type of driver's license involved in the survey is mainly A2.

2. Business condition. Most drivers have no fixed line and work more than 8 hours a day. The invalid working hours of waiting and parking still account for a large proportion. Most trucks are driven by single drivers, and fatigue driving is common.

3. Sense of policy gain. Most drivers reflect that the toll has not been reduced since the change of toll collection method. Currently, the problem of "large tonnage and small standard" in newly registered vehicles is basically eliminated. The problem of annual examination of vehicles in different places is gradually solved.

4. Social security. Most drivers suffer from occupational diseases, and only 8% of them take a rest in hotels or driver's homes. The drivers hope to enjoy the services such as meals and rest breaks, parking monitoring and overnight rest in the "driver's home".
