Description |
The signal project of Tongzhou District, the sub-center of Beijing, was undertaken by Beijing E-hualu Information Technology Co., Ltd. With an overall investment of 287 million, the project construction was divided into two phases and was completed in 2019. The first phase of the upgrading and transforming of signal-light-controlled intersections covers the establishment of intelligent transportation systems, the integration of existing information systems, and the building of urban management big data platform. It mainly includes the upgrading and transformation of signal light infrastructure, the construction of intelligent municipal and traffic signal control platforms, signal control machines, and platform network connections. The second phase of the upgrading and transforming of signal-light-controlled intersections is the connection into the intelligent transportation system, including the upgrading and transforming of the infrastructure of signal lights, the connection of signal control machines with the existing intelligent traffic signal control system for networked joint control, and the supporting projects. The upgrade and transformation are focused on four aspects. The first is to realize a unified networking mechanism for the signal machines through the upgrade of the signal control system. The second is to realize multi-mode signal control means by creating a video traffic monitoring system. The third is to realize the sharing and exchange of multi-source data, visual display and comprehensive supervision via access to the big data platform. The fourth is to improve the travel efficiency in Tongzhou District through coordinating “outfield signal upgrade and transformation + command center intelligent application construction.” Through various optimization methods such as traffic organization and signal control, the average speed of vehicles in Tongzhou District has increased by 15.6% and the average travel time on urban arterial roads has been shortened by 32.5%. |
