Description |
In 2019, the project of canceling provincial boundary toll stations was carried out nationwide to accelerate the application of electronic non-stop charging. The replacement of manual toll charging with ETC technology can further improve vehicle traffic efficiency and reduce logistics costs. Based on the characteristics of different provinces and cities, Hikvision developed the expressway intelligent checkpoint system to serve modern intelligent transportation with its technological advantage. The intelligent checkpoint system can be installed on any section of the expressway to monitor public security, punish violations of laws, and measure the speed at fixed intervals. It can realize automatic real-time photoing and recording of vehicles passing by and provide structured data such as license plates and vehicle attributes to locate and track the target in public security monitoring. Through the suppression of vehicle lights, the capture of details in the vehicle, and the improvement of image clarity, it can capture and obtain evidence for illegal acts such as line pressing, lane changing, and blocking to manual workload and ensure smooth traffic. By setting two adjacent monitoring points on the same road, it can calculate the average speed of the vehicle, judge whether it is speeding, and realize the speed measurement at fixed intervals with video surveillance. In 2019, a total of 25,575 ETC gates and 51,375 ETC lanes were built and renovated across the country. Video perception was used to monitor passing vehicles and record the passing time, lane numbers, license plate numbers, and vehicle models. Through technical iterations, the forward and reverse motor vehicle capture rate of the expressway intelligent checkpoint system has basically reached 99%, the forward and reverse license plate recognition rate is above 99%, and the vehicle type recognition rate is above 98%. It helps traffic command and management departments and road users to keep abreast of traffic conditions, make accurate decisions, and better conduct traffic command and management. |
Key Data |
Through the iterative optimization of the intelligent traffic checkpoint system, Hikvision has achieved good results on most expressway sections under the condition of ensuring normal construction on site: The forward and reverse motor vehicle capture rate has basically reached 99%, the forward and reverse license plate recognition rate is above 99%, and the vehicle type recognition rate is above 98%. |

Status Quo/Progress |
In 2021, the 703-kilometer east-west half-frame intelligent checkpoint system was launched on the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Expressway and more than 200 illegal vehicles were captured during the Spring Festival. |
Innovation Point |
Focusing on the on-site feedback, implementation plans for different scenarios are designed. Such functions as public security monitoring, illegal action punishment and speed measurement at fixed intervals are realized by the expressway intelligent checkpoint system through such services as the eye-safe light supplement equipment and on-site deployment and technical support. |
