CASE DESCRIPTION

The Yixingwang (http://www.e511.com/) website developed by the Transport Commission of Shenzhen Municipality was formally launched in August 2011 to provide traffic information services to the public.

Using data provided by the Transport Commission of Shenzhen Municipality, the Yixingwang platform releases traffic information via its website, mobile phone app, bus and subway TV monitors, and onboard vehicle navigation devices. Yixingwang integrates data from eight transport networks including urban road, bus route, rail ridership, and other networks.

Yixingwang provides comprehensive transit inquiry services such as traffic conditions, public transport information and intercity transport information for Shenzhen as well as subscription services according to different demands. Multi-modal transport information services for sea, land, air, railway, and ground are available through the Yixingwang website, mobile phone app, and bus and subway TV monitors.

Yixingwang is mainly operated and maintained by Shenzhen e-Traffic Technology Co., Ltd., which is a state-owned enterprise engaged in smart transport and smart city planning, construction, operation maintenance, R&D, and other relevant businesses.

By the end of 2013, the “e-Traffic” website had accumulated over 1.8 million clicks. Over 210,000 users had downloaded the “Traffic on Hand” application software and the Transport Commission of Shenzhen Municipality Weibo account had 160,000 followers.
